Needing plenty of storage, display and organization for their home office, our clients came to us with a drawing of their desired wall unit. The cabinetry was to run from wall to wall, floor to ceiling in their finished basement. Below is the final result, a beautiful and highly useful set of bookshelves and base cabinets! One of the stand-out features on this unit is a pair of “floating” shelves at the center of the wall. These were necessary due to an important electrical access panel in this location. We think it makes a great display feature and adds a special feel to the final project.

The lower, flanking sections of the new cabinetry boast plenty of closed storage behind custom shaker-style doors. A 12-foot long, continuous countertop sits atop the base cabinets, offering workspace as well as nice, deep shelving for books or office materials. Most of the shelving is adjustable, including shelves inside the closed storage sections. We carefully notched the unit into the room’s existing baseboard molding to make the new cabinetry appear part of the room’s plan from the start.

We’re sure our clients will use and enjoy this gorgeous piece for many years to come, and have a lot of fun loading up this perfect solution for office organization!
